Flatdog Expedition coffee is here! A carefully crafted blend of Kenyan, Brazilian and Colombian coffee beans, bringing together East African structure, balanced Brazilian body and a touch of Columbian brightness. Expect smooth notes of milk chocolate, caramel and brown sugar, making for a coffee that's as good at camp as it is at home.<br> <br> Flatdog Coffee is small-batch roasted by artisan coffee roaster Terrain Brew.<br> <br> THE BLEND: <br> <br> Kenya. Nyeri, Central Highlands (40%)<br> Grown on the southern slopes of Mount Kenya toward the Aberdare Range, where deep red volcanic soil holds moisture through two rainy seasons a year. Cherries are picked between 1,800 to 1850m, high enough to slow ripening and let sugars and acids build properly before harvest. This is some of the most consistent highland ground in the country. A mix of Batian, Ruiru 11, SL28 and SL34 is harvested together, then double-washed for a cleaner, sharper cup.<br> <br> Brazil. Sao Sebastiao da Grama (30%)<br> A region that made the jump from bulk production to genuine speciality status, driven by Recreio Farm, a seven-time Cup of Excellence winner. Improved farming and processing here have turned this stretch of countryside into one of Brazil's leading speciality zones. In the cup: a soft, nutty sweetness with the balanced acidity and body Brazilian lots are known for. This is the blend's backbone which smooths out the sharper edges of the Kenya and Colombia components.<br> <br> Colombia. San Agustin, Macizo Colombiano (30%)<br> <br> Grown in the shadow of the Andes, where altitude, cool climate and fertile volcanic soil favour Caturra and Castillo which are two varieties prized for texture and flavour clarity as much as yield. San Agustin itself sits among UNESCO-listed archaeological sites, stone statues dating back to the 1st century AD, giving this origin as much history in the ground as in the cup. Bright, textured, and distinct from the other two components in the blend.<br> <br> Flatdog Expedition coffee is supplied as roasted beans with tasting notes milk chocolate caramel and brown sugar.<br> <br> We love our Flatdog Expedition Coffee from the trail press (aero press). We recommend 11-15g ( scoop - heaped scoop) of coffee to 200-240ml of hot water - but adjust to your own taste. Add milk? Go for it!
